Profeministimiehet favours the criminalisation of buying sex. The pattern overwhelmingly of men buying sex is degrading to women, reinforces and reaffirms the inequality between men and women, and instigates the trafficking of women and children. Given that consent to prostitution is impossible, unlikely or very difficult to obtain, we see prostitution as effectively an extension of men's violence against women and children.

We believe that women working in prostitution should be protected. Many prostitutes have been and are victims and should receive proper help and support in leaving the sex trade. Male demand for female and male prostitutes fuels the sex trade and we believe these men should be held legally accountable. Prostitutes are often left exposed to violent behaviour. Existing laws should be enforced. Violence is a crime and violence against women is a global phenomenon that needs to be intensely addressed. Pimping is already criminal, and the law on that should also be enforced.
